Burrs Bonsai Weekend 2008
Well all I can say is “those who did not go truely missed out BIG TIME!!!” It was fantastic.
Here is my tree dubbed “The Italian Job” as it was styled by Enrico Savini and Ivo Saporiti, with me doing the wiring and the raffia work.
July 2006
After purchasing from Lee Verhoorevoort

After the intial work and trunk split at Burrs workshop

The finished tree…
I still need to sort out the jins and shari, and of course a pot, but for now the tree will stay like this for another year in this pot to be further refined and improved

Hi Andy,
it was so nice to see you and your “Italian job” Juniper back at “BURRS” this weekend! And man those this tree look good in such a short time!!!
And yes it was great as always! I wish that more of these kind of events could be staged, so that more people could enjoy themselves, how great it is to work, a whole weekend long, with Bonsai among such great friends!! It truly was Bonsai heaven for me again! And if people like to see more, I placed a lot of pictures on my weblog.
Hope to see you soon Andy!
Your friend,
Hans van Meer.

Hi Hans
It was good to see you to at Burrs. What a fantastic weekend and I am so so
pleased with “The Italian Job” it has taken pride of place in my garden!
I also wish more events can be staged like this as it is weekends like Burrs
that truly bring out the spirit of Bonsai and break down all barriers and form
new friendships.
Looking forward to seeing you again, I will be at Noelanders with
Mr Tickle so I may se you there
All the best my friend
Kindest regards
