2007 BSF Convention in Delray Beach
Here are some photos from the convention which took place June 8 through 10 at the beautiful Japanese Morikami Museum in Delray Beach Florida.

The Turners (Old Florida Bonsai Nursery in Vero Beach) raffled this excellent Portulacaria at their vending booth to their customers!!

David de Groot’s Juniper demo and result.Later he additionally thinned out the apex area of the finished tree.

David’s great tool sharpening demonstration during Vendors’ Night.He showed us the correct sharpening technique with waterstone and oilstone (Masakuni).
Sean Smith’s Tanuki demo during Vendors’ Night was fun!Note how he transferred rather boring juniper material!
And after..Sean would have liked to add an additional piece of “Applewood”to the base if the time allowed.He also conducted a tanuki workshop which I unfortunately missed.

The convention exhibit was basically planned to be a tribute to cypress trees (”Cypress Celebration”) featuring Joe Samuel’s painting of a cypress,which was also the convention logo.Unfortunately we lost Joe just months prior to the event.(Please check “A Tribute to Joe Samuels” at artofbonsai.org)
