Australian Pine Styling and Updates
I grew the branches of this Australian Pine during the last year.
I did not make an initial photograph of the tree, since I did not expect the tree beeing that cooperative and rapidely growing.
The tree will be developed with 2 trunks even though the second trunk is starting high up the main trunk.
I will start to work on the deadwood.Australian Pines are also known as “Ironwood”…It will be a challenge to basically handcarve the wood.I will use powertools on bigger jins and for cleaning purposes only.At least this is the plan.
There are some problematic areas which will need further attention. One area is the top section of the main trunk.I will need to create some taper. The rotted wood had to be removed some time ago and left a rather straight part of the trunk. Also, the big jin is too massive and hides the second tree.
The Pine comes out of the ground nicely, leaving much space for accentual carving at the base.
I will post more pics tonight.
Starting to associate “Ironwood” with iron wood…More tomorrow..
Tonight I am working on the upper part of the tree.
Result
The deadwood was blowtorched, cleaned, treated with lime sulphur, brushed and polished to achieve multiple color variations, small borer holes were added too.
Some updates:
Tree is doing just fine, the tree is being “plugged”every second day.It loves fertilizer and getting misted frequently.
