Phoebe
One winter day in 2000 we received a call from my sister. She said that one of her friends found a stray kitten, and she wondered if we would like another one. I guess what happened was my sisters friend pulled into her driveway. She saw a little tiny kitten run out from the bushes and up into the car engine from underneath. She was pregnant at the time and did not want another mouth to feed.
We gladly took this little approximately 2 month old kitten into our home. We took her to the vet to see if there was anything wrong with her. We found out that all four of her paws were severely burned, probably from the car engine. She was also throwing up any food that she ate. The vet told us to feed her canned pumpkin. She was able to keep it down and is very healthy today. Now whenever we open a can of pumpkin Phoebe is right there waiting for her share.
