Just a quick update on the new shohin larch. Budded well and looking good. Do not plan to do much else this year. Hope to just build it’s strength so I can hollow out the trunk later.
Have also repotted one of my ferns that is looking good.

The first is a Maple that has been in training for 2 years.
It stands 5.5″ high including the pot.
This is a Hawthorn. A collected tree. This one is 4″ high including the pot.

At a resent club meeting one of the girls brought this piece along. It’s a Hawthorn.
Sometimes I wonder what people think when they are collecting material.
To my eye, this has limited possibilities.
One is to remove all the thick branches and grow on.
