Found this strange character in the garden today.
                                   

Just a quick update on the new shohin larch. Budded well and looking good. Do not plan to do much else this year. Hope to just build it’s strength so I can hollow out the trunk later.
                                               
Have also repotted one of my ferns that is looking good.

The first is a Maple that has been in training for 2 years. 
                 It stands 5.5″ high including the pot.
                                                                         
This is a Hawthorn. A collected tree. This one is 4″ high including the pot.

At a resent club meeting one of the girls brought this piece along.  It’s a Hawthorn.
                                             
Sometimes I wonder what people think when they are collecting material.
To my eye, this has limited possibilities.
One is to remove all the thick branches and grow on.
The other is to try and Air-Layer parts of the material to make [...]

Have just re-potted this little thing.

  Have just added this to History’s.
