Re-potted more trees today.
First was a Shohin Sycamore.
This one is 17cm high and i am sure will continue to be a problem !!
These are very course in their growth and are difficult to get re-finement in branch structure.
But, it does have a great nebrari.

I had coffe with an old friend today and caught up with another old friend.
This is a group i assembled in 1991 and gave to my mate a few years ago.
Good to see he’s looking after it.

I re-potted some favorites today.
The Blackthorn was just cleaned out of weeds and only needed a gentle root prune.
The Hawthorn also only needed a slight root prune but was re-positioned as suggested by Hans Van Meer last year.
Both of these are planted in Gordon Duffett pots.

I re-potted my lonicera today.
I have put it in a pot from Gordon Duffett which is a lot smaller than the original.
This should be the final pot for this tree and will allow for future growth.
The present height is 18cm./7″.

I bought this tree back in 1990, encouraged by the wife who fancied an “indoor” tree.

I soon learnt that there is no such thing but continued to like it.
After a while i saw that if i did not do anything with the design it would just get larger each year.
In 1995 i decided to re-style the tree in order to keep it small.

I have grown the tree on by using the “clip and grow ” method.
I did not want to create fixed pads of foliage but to have a more random natural look that gave the size of a big tree with being able to look through it.
The current image shows that it now needs a serious trim as it has been let go for two years.

I hope to have more time next year to get the trees back in shape.

Sorry it has been so quiet. Many reasons.
Busy with the new house and job. All going well.
Computer problems which i think are now sorted. So,,,,,
Bonsai stuff has also been quiet just feeding and watering. Have picked up a couple of new little pieces to work on.No plans to show anything this year as i am to busy with the other things.
Had a day off and went to the Exvale show last w.e.
It was nice to catch up with some old friends.
Celtic Knot (Dragon Bonsai) put on their usual excelant show and also Gordon Duffet was there with some nice pots. Yes, i was tempted and bought one and ordered another.

I can’t believe that we’re at the end of Feb already.
Fortunately, no proposals . It could have been a little awkward. He.He.
Have settled into the new residence but have a lot of work ahead.
BONSAI are waking up so i will have to be more attentive to their needs.
I will try to post some more interestering stuff soon.
